- Health Professions Affinity Community (HPAC) is a service-learning model that empowers youth to become engaged in the healthcare of their community.
- The vision that NEOMED and AmeriCorp members share for HPAC is to assist rural, economically disadvantaged, middle school through high school youth with academic and career support through this service-learning model.
- HPAC members learn how to identify established assets in their community, such as local health departments and other agencies.
- Students involved in HPAC will improve their opportunities for career success, especially in the health care industry, through enhanced college and career readiness, leadership skills, community outreach and service, and self-efficacy
